Child's Story

Faith Sakala aged 12 years old, was born on 4th November, 2010, lives with the father and step mother in Wasala community. Faith lost her beloved mother in the year 2016. Then the father remarried in the year 2021. Faith’s father is a Pastor of a local church (Pentecost Holiness Assemblies) in her community which Covenant Heart International Missions is helping to build into a modern structure.

In 2016, when the mother died she started living with her relatives with the consent of the father as he couldn’t afford to care for her at that time. When Faith moved to her relatives in another district, she was perpetually mistreated throughout her period of staying with the mother’s relatives ranging from physical beatings, child jobs or given a lot of chores and even made to sleep outside of the house at least a good number of times until the father learnt of her mistreatment in 2022. As of the year 2022 the father got her from the late mother’s relatives and she’s currently in Wasala community with the father and step-mother.

Faith is passionate about becoming a military personnel when she grows up, even though she once attended school up to grade 3 then she couldn’t continue due to financial constraints that the family faced when her mother died. Faith loves to attend her father’s church and she’s passionate about praying to God whenever she faces devastating moments in her life. Her favorite thing to do is playing netball.

We believe that one day Faith Sakala will realize and live out her God given potentials through a heart of unified help in her life.
