Child's Story
Evelyn Phiri aged 6 years old was born on the 5th of May, 2016, she lives in Wasala Community with her mother who is the primary caregiver and her maternal grandmother. Evelyn lost her father when she was a baby and since that time the mother has remained to be her sole provider of all the basic needs.

Evelyn and her family have had life full of challenges with regards to eating proper meals in a day, clothing and resources to meet day to day basic needs, as the mother has no formal skills to be employed for a well paying job, thus she sells tomatoes to have the family realize something to use to meet their household needs. Her daily income is less than $2 in a day. This has contributed to the child not being able to access the basic need of Education since she was born. Evelyn and the family live in a two-room makeshift house as their shelter.

Evelyn is a sweet little girl and a bundle of joy for the mother and her family, she desires to be a teacher when she becomes of age. She loves attending the kids Sunday school at her community church. Her favorite hobby is dancing and she’s passionate about playing netball in her sweet little age.

Our perpetual prayer for Evelyn Phiri is that God will create possible streams of help for her through us, that she may be supported in school, thereby helping her realize and live her God innate potential.
