Child's Story
Kennedy Simushi aged 13 was born on the 6th of May 2009, currently living with his older brother as his primary guardian within Wasala community. Kennedy Simushi lost both parents at the age of 2 years of which made the older brother to become his primary caregiver. Kennedy like Jude the sister has never attended any school since he was born, this is all by reason of the primary caregiver being unable to provide the holistic support as he only does casual form of work or piece works and the daily income is not enough (less than $2 daily) to care for Kennedy, Jude and the other relatives in the household. Kennedy and her family normally have one meal a day, lack of proper clothing and they live in a make shift shelter made out of clay.
Despite all the challenges Kennedy expresses his levels of care and diligence by helping the family with house chores and engages in selling of vegetables in the community so as to assist the family. Kennedy enjoys his free time by playing soccer. His future aspiration is to become a Lawyer. In regards to his spirituality Kennedy expresses his love for God through praying as well as attending church services. Kennedy Simushi a precious child in God’s eyes filled with joy, hope, love and an undying passion to become better.
